Lady Tigers Fall to Chowan, 3-0

Lawrenceville, VA - September 18, 2008 -  The Saint Paul's Lady Tigers were defeated by the Lady Hawks of Chowan University 3-0 on Thursday night at Taylor-Whitehead Gymnasium.  The Lady Tigers record falls to 3-12 overall and 1-7 in the CIAA Conference.

The Lady Tigers return to action next Wednesday, September 24, as they kick-off a three game road trip traveling to Lincoln University (PA) to take on the Lady Lions.  The Lady Tigers return home on October 1, when they host the Lady Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith University.  Game time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.

Saint Paul's Swept by Bowie 3-0

 (BOWIE, Md.)  Bowie State University Lady Bulldogs make quick work of visiting Saint Paul’s College, sweeping the Lady Tigers 3-0 (25-12, 25-14 and 25-16).  The win improves Bowie State’s record to 2-0 (1-0 in the CIAA and 1-0 in the East).          

           Keneil Rainey and Holly Baldwin led Saint Paul’s (2-3 / 0-1 in the CIAA and 0-1 in the East) with three kills each and Brittany Christian recorded two kills for the Lady Tigers.  Farrah Sells was the leading server for Saint Paul’s recording three service aces and was also credited with a team-high seven digs. 

            Senior Aliycia Williams-Chase led the charge with 14 kills and 13 digs for Bowie State.  Junior Jasmine McNair and senior Tamira Conner Rogers added eight kills apiece for the Lady Bulldogs and juniors Breaun Garner and Itumeleng Shadreck chipped in four kills each.  Conner Rogers paced BSU with three service aces and Williams-Chase along with Shadreck recorded two aces each.

              Saint Paul's continue their road trip tomorrow as they travel to Petersburg, VA to take on the Lady Trojans of Virginia State University.  Game time is slated for 6:00 p.m.
