Tigers Score Upset Against Golden Bulls in Lawrenceville 

Lawrenceville, Virginia - January 17, 2009 - The Saint Paul’s College Tigers hosted the Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith University at Taylor-Whitehead Gymnasium on Saturday, January 17.  Playing at a high pace, the Tigers’ tempo worked in their favor as they beat their western division rivals in overtime, 84–91. Tigers Take Panthers to the Wire But Fall Short

Lawrenceville, Virginia - January 10, 2009 - The Saint Paul's College Tigers played one of their best games of the season against the Panthers of Virginia Union University but lost, 75-72.  With four players in double figures, the Tigers played tough in the second half to make the game exciting and close. Tigers Maintain Composure Down the Stretch as They Defeat Lincoln

Lawrenceville, Virginia - The Saint Paul's College Tigers played host to the Lions of Lincoln University (PA) on Tuesday night at Taylor-Whitehead Gymnasium.  The Tigers (1-2 Overall) were able to hold off the Lions' (0-3 Overall) last minute run and come out with a win, 69-65. 

The Tigers were led by 07-08 All-CIAA Rookie Team member, Maurice Reevy, with 17 points, eight rebounds and one assist. As well as, senior guard Anthony Wynn with 16 points and nine rebounds with two assist. Sophomore guard George Leseur added an additional 11 points and four assist. The Tigers out hustled the Lions as they out rebounded them 44 to 31.

Lincoln was led by junior guard Damian Hyman with 22 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. 

The Tigers return to action on Tuesday, November 25, when they play host to the Bulldogs of Bowie State University.  Gametime is slated for 7:30 pm.

Tips-Off 2008-09 Campaign

Charlotte, NC: October 9, 2008 - The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced its Pre-Season All-CIAA Teams and Predicted Order of Finish at the CIAA Basketball Press Conference and Luncheon, this afternoon.

Today’s 2008-09 campaign opened with in-depth predictions and outlooks presented by CIAA men's and women's basketball head coaches.  Participants were also treated to an unveiling of the 2009 tournament logo and a preview of the 2009 edition of www.ciaatournament.org

This year's pre-season teams were highlighted by conference leaders from Virginia State and St. Augustine’s: All-Conference Star Katania Walker and 07-08 Rookie of the Year, Allison Sikes; On the men's side, 2007-08 All-Conference vets and 07-08 Player of the Year, Anthony Hilliard of Elizabeth City State and Andy Gebru of Fayetteville State led the men's selections.
