Hubert “Hubie” L. Bryant
Assistant Head Coach
Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach
Hubie
Bryant returns for his second year as the Offensive Coordinator for
the Saint Paul’s College Football Team. In addition to on-field
instruction, Coach Bryant handles Administrative Affairs for the SPC
Football program.
Coach Bryant comes to Saint Paul’s
College by way of Virginia Union University where he served as the
Wide Receivers Coach. He began his collegiate coaching career at
Norfolk State University, where he served as the Wide Receivers and
Special Teams Coach. Coach Bryant’s superb coaching has landed
three players on NFL rosters (James Roe, Eric Still and
Jerome Leslie).
He is a graduate of The University of
Minnesota as well as Norfolk State University. At the University of
Minnesota he was named to the All-Big Ten second team as a flanker.
Additionally, he was the Big Ten Champion in the 60-yard and the
220-yard dashes as a member of the UM Track Team. After receiving
his Associate of Arts degree from The University of Minnesota, he
went on to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers where he led the NFL in
punt returns. After leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers, he spent two
seasons with the New England Patriots. Bryant also spent part of
his professional career in the World Football League, where he
played for the Florida Blazers and The Hawaiians. Coach Bryant
received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Norfolk
State University.

Coach
Kevin Grisby
Assistant Head Coach
Defensive Coordinator/Defensive Backs
Coach
Coach Kevin Grisby
returns for his second year as the Defensive Coordinator of the
Saint Paul’s College football team. Coach
Grisby, whose duties include on-field instruction, as well as
recruiting, will be involved in all of the day-to-day operations of
the football program at SPC.
Coach Grisby
comes to Saint Paul’s College by way of Virginia Union University
where he served as the Defensive Coordinator. While at Virginia
Union, he coached two players to AFCA All-American status (Ralph
Hunter, ’01 & Ronald Hardge, ’99) and
placed three on NFL rosters (Ralph Hunter, James Atkins & Ronald
Hardge). His defense was ranked in the
top twenty-five in Total Defense among NCAA Division II institutions
in four out of the five years in which he served as the Defensive
Coordinator.
In 1990, Coach
Grisby received his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice
from Bethune-Cookman College, where he
later returned as a graduate assistant. At Bethune-Cookman,
where he was a three-year varsity letterman, he was selected as a
Pre-Season All-American and garnered ALL-MEAC honors in 1989. Upon
graduation, Grisby entered the world of
professional athletics. In 1990, he was a member of the NFL’S
Philadelphia Eagles where he played under the direction of Defensive
Coordinator Jeff Fisher, who is currently the Head Coach of the
Tennessee Titans. Grisby also spent
part of his professional career with the World League’s San Antonio
Riders and played in two Arena Bowl Championships with the Miami
Tribe. Coach Grisby also serves as the
Head Coach of the Men’s Golf team at Saint Paul’s College.

Coach
Timothy Chavous
Running Backs Coach
Coach Timothy
Chavous returns to the sidelines for his second stint as
the Running Backs Coach of the SPC Football team. He coached
the SPC running backs in 2003 during his first stint with the
Tigers. He comes to Saint Paul’s College by way of Virginia
State University, where he served as the Assistant Running Backs
Coach for 1 season. Chavous was a
standout at Bethune-Cookman College
where he was a member of the 2001 MEAC Championship team.
Chavous, a Florida native, received
his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with a minor in
Health Education from Bethune-Cookman
College in 2002.

Coach
Thomas Coleman
Wide Receivers Coach
Coach Thomas Coleman returns for his
second season as the Wide Receivers Coach of the SPC Football team.
Coleman was a stellar football player at Virginia Union University.
He spent four years at Virginia Union where he was a two-time
All-CIAA selection under the leadership of Coach Willard Bailey.
Additionally, he was a member of Virginia Union’s CIAA Championship
team in 2001. Coleman, a Richmond, VA native, received his Bachelor
of Arts in Sociology at Virginia Union University. He is currently
pursuing his Masters Degree in Education at The University of
Virginia.

Coach
Damon Frenchers
Defensive Line Coach
Coach Damon
Frenchers returns for his second season as the Defensive Line
Coach of the SPC football team. He comes to Saint Paul’s College by
way of North Carolina Central University, where he served as the
Defensive Coordinator.
Frenchers has made coaching
stops at Norfolk State University, Delaware State University & South
Carolina State University. After playing three seasons at the
University of Missouri, Frenchers served
as an undergraduate assistant during his senior year due to an
injury. Frenchers, a Missouri native,
graduated from Regents College in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science in
Liberal Arts. He also serves as the Head Coach of the Saint Paul’s
College Baseball team.

Coach
Roderick Hampton
Offensive Line Coach
Coach Roderick Hampton returns for his
second season as the Offensive Line Coach of the SPC Football team.
Hampton, a California native, attended Virginia Union where he
received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He spent his senior
year at Virginia Union, under the leadership of Coach Willard
Bailey. During his senior campaign, he garnered All-CIAA honors.
Prior to transferring to VUU, he attended American River College
where he also garnered All-Conference honors and received his
Associates of Arts Degree.

Coach
Tony Missick
Linebackers Coach
Coach Tony
Missick returns for his second season as the Linebackers
Coach of the SPC Football team. Missick,
a native of Florida, attended the University of Kentucky where
he received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
Missick most recently completed his
second season as the Assistant Head Coach and Defensive
Coordinator of the Birmingham Steeldogs
(AF2). He is a NFL and arena football veteran, having spent
time with the Philadelphia Eagles organization and the AFL’s
Miami Hooters, Columbus Thunderbolts and Albany Firebirds.
