DURHAM, NC – The Lady Tiger bowling team rolled their way to the best finish in school history, placing 3rd at the 2005 CIAA Bowling Tournament.  Saint Paul's College shattered the school Baker’s Match record on November 7th vs. Virginia State University, when they bowled a 229 (Previous record was 217).  After the first day of competition, only 8 of 12 CIAA schools advanced to the championship round.  SPC entered the championship round as the CIAA’s #5 seed.  Saint Paul's knocked off #4 ranked Virginia State University and #2 ranked Elizabeth City State University to advance to the Championship bracket.  Loses to both Shaw University and Bowie State University would end their season, as the Lady Tigers clinched a 3rd place finish.  SPC All-CIAA bowler Jessica McCandless would earn additional honors by being named to the All-Tournament team.  She would finish the tournament with a 181.2 average, which included a team-high 202 game.  For additional information, please contact the Saint Paul's College Office of Sports Information at tsykes@saintpauls.edu.
