The History of The James Solomon Russell Memorial Library
The James Solomon Russell Memorial Library is named in honor of the Reverend
James Solomon Russell, Founder of Saint Paul’s College. The Russell Memorial
Library, as it is commonly known, houses a wide variety of print and non-print
resources to serve the instructional, research and general information needs of
the college community. The building that houses the library was given by Miss
Mary E. Johnson in memory of the Founder. Renovations to the facility occurred
in 1969 and 1980. The Russell Memorial Library is currently 19,000 square feet
and is an open-stacks facility, except for reserve
materials.
