Career Services CenterNACElink for Students

The mission of Career Services Center is to aid all students in developing, evaluating, and effectively implementing their career plans. Career planning is a development process and must be fostered during the entire period of a student’s academic experience.

The Career Services Center (CSC) assists undergraduate students, as well as, alumni with all aspects of career development.  The staff provides individualized career counseling, which involves the beginning stages of career development, career assessment, gathering of occupational information, and the utilization of computerized career guidance programs.  Emphasis is also placed on the preparation of resumes, interviewing techniques, job search and other employment strategies.  Within the CSC computerized listings of the following items are maintained:
               Current employment opportunities
               Internships/cooperative education opportunities
               Fellowships
               Scholarships

The CSC also encourages networking with the business community by encouraging students to attend conferences, career fairs, and graduate school fairs.

In addition, this office supplies information about graduate schools, and testing for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), Law School Admission Test (LSAT), and Professional Assessments for Beginning Teachers (PRAXIS), College Level Examination Program (CLEP), and the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT).

All students are strongly encouraged to register with this office during their freshman year in order to establish a Credential Portfolio File and become eligible for the services provided by the Career Services Center.

Registration and the maintenance of a credentials file is a requirement for seniors seeking CSC assistance for placement in professional career positions upon graduation.  Registered students are added to the CSC email list and receive priority consideration for the on-campus referral program.  To register, students should complete a Student Profile Sheet and provide an electronic copy of their resume.

The CSC is open daily 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, with evening hours offered by appointment.
