GRADUATION
Saint Paul’s
College confers the degree of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science. For
either degree, the student must successfully complete the curriculum
requirements of his/her major. The senior year, or the last thirty (30)
semester hours for the degree, must be completed in residence. The College
requires a minimum of 120 hours for graduation. Additional hours may be
necessary for certain majors or other conditions. The minimum cumulative grade
point average for graduation with any degree is 2.00. A minimum of thirty (30)
hours is required for each major. A grade of “C” or above is required for each
major course.
Graduation with Honors -
To graduate with honors, a student must complete at least two years or a minimum
of 60 semester hours in residence at the College with a minimum G.P.A. of 3.20.
All college level work is used in the computation of the G.P.A.. Transfer
students from community, junior, and senior colleges or universities are
eligible provided they achieve the specified grade point average. The level of
attainment will be determined by either the overall average or the Saint Paul’s
College average, whichever is lower. The G.P.A. values currently in use at
Saint Paul’s College will be used to calculate the grade point average on all
transfer credits. Students who already hold a baccalaureate degree are not
eligible for these distinctions.
CUM LAUDE – Students who earned a G.P.A.
of 3.20 - 3.49.
MAGNA CUM LAUDE - Students who have
earned a G.P.A. of 3.50 - 3.74 with no grades below a “D” in hours attempted in
all college work.
SUMMA CUM LAUDE
- Students who
have earned a G.P.A. of 3.75 - 4.00 with no grades below a “C” in hours
attempted in all college level work. |
